It's Magical Monday Challenge Time at TMIA/PCC

Marie Bridgeman brings us this weeks challenge at TMIA/PCC. She would like to see us use any acquired Paper Cupcake's Image and use no patterned paper on your project. You can emboss, stamp, score etc. to make a pattern, but no store bought pattern paper.  The design team have created some awesome inspiration for you so hop on over TMIA/PCC to see their works of wonder.
We sure hope you can play along with us this week!!!

I created this small note card to send to a friend of mine across the oceans and thought the lighthouse image by Nina would be perfect. Image was colored with Copics, sage ultrafine Flower Soft was added to the top of the hill and the mesas. I think I've finally gotten the water technique down to where I'm pleased with the way it turns out........finally.....LOL  What do you think?  The sky was sponged with Memento Sky Blue ink. The sentiment was computer generated and then cut with a Spellbinder's die and sponged with Sky Blue. Pretty easy project for me this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you  have the time to leave me a comment so I can come visit to see what's new with you.  I'm really hoping you can play along with us this week. It would mean so much to me to see some of my followers participating in this challenge. I love ya all as you make my days complete and give me a reason to keep creating.

Anything Goes -- with Ribbon & Lace EDITED 8/29/10

I'm so sorry I didn't realize there was a prize for participating this week at For Fun and am updating this post to show what you can win by playing along with us.

Happy Wednesday!
This week we have a great challenge for you at For Fun sponsored by Craft Brulee.  Anything goes - but - you must use a ribbon of some type somewhere on your card or project.
That's it, easy-peasey.

OMG, you've just got to go see what the design team at For Fun has come up with. Talk about some fantastic inspirational projects - they've really got it together. Please check it out cause I know ya won't be disappointed when you see the lovely altered art bird cage by Amelia
That's the only sneak peek from me tonight...........LOL

The DP is from Once Upon a Time paper pack, I think from DCWV.  The beautiful flower is from Craft Brulee.  Now don't faint - I've put sentiments on my card this time (I can't believe it either) but I wanted that flower to be the main focus on the card.  The stamps are one of the first ones I purchased a long time ago and I have no idea where they came from.  They were stamped with embossing ink and then heat set with Ranger Ultra Fine Gold embossing powder.  I added gold Stickles to each corner of the die cut for that extra bling.  Then to top it off, I wanted the amber heart gems from my stash to come as close to matching the center stone on the flower so I covered them with Lime Green Stickles.

A BIG thank you to Marie at Paper Cupcakes for this fantastic sketch.  Thanks a bunch Marie!!!!

That's it from me this morning - short and sweet.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see ya again soon.  Hope you have the time to leave me a comment so I can pop on over and see what lovely new creations are on your blog.  Hope I've made sense cause I'm pooped tonight!

Joyful Ride is such a fun image to color.  Punches: MS Deco Fan corner and edge, EK Swirl Fluorish punches from stash paper.  Mulberry flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, branch leaf punch  from MS.   Copics: V000-01-17-12; Y00-02; R00-01-02; G82; R29-39 YR18; C5-7  Snail: R30; Blk 110; VO1-17-12; E0000-000-00-11-15-21-27. For Fun Recipe Challenge

The challenge this week at For Fun is a recipe of 1 ribbon - 2 decorator papers - 3 embellies, and we'd sure love to have you play along with us.  Above is my card featuring Audrey Fishing image from The Stamping Boutique and colored with Copics. The text was computer generated.

I hope you take the time to hop on over to For Fun and get a peek at some fabulous cards created by the design team.

DP was created using Kaleli Designs Corner digi papers purchased in a bundle from Cool Scraps Digitals.  No, I'm not encouraging you try these because I wouldn't want you to get as addicted as I have become in the past week. Not sure I could ever find some of these beautiful papers in a store so I'm taking advantage of all the possibilities with digi papers. I've printed off the papers on InkJet cardstock and I am amazed at the quality of the print and the fact I didn't use as much ink as I would have had it been a photo. Copics also blend very well using this paper but I don't think its Linguin and Acid free. It sure works great for greeting cards though and I'm please with the way it turned out, except can't seem to get the water right.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Sure hope you have the time to leave me a short comment so I can come and visit you soon.

Nana Vic Goes Jet Skiing

Now what's more fun than jet skiing on a hot sunny day at a nice cool lake or from the beach? I can't think of anything cause I'm sure not getting in water where I can't see the bottom or what's in there.  Nope, no swimming for me unless it's in a nice clean pool somewhere, but I do love the ocean and boating and so does Nana Vic.

The sentiment and image were created by Vickie of Nana Vic's Studio.  DP is digi paper (I'm loving the option of using digi papers and semi-transparent png images). There are a bunch of great freebies out there for ya all.  Image was colored using Copics and real sea shells were added to the beach. There are so many great digi's from Nana Vic and she is creating more every week, so hop on over and pick your fancy.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon. I hope you have the time to leave me a little note to let me know you were here so I can come visit you soon.

"Just Ducky" Lazing Around

EDITED:  I've been asked by so many of you how to make the flowers.  Well, I had to go back through a lot of blogs to find the tutorial and it was created by Selma at Selma's Stamping Corner.
Here is a link to her tutorial.
Thanks Selma for the great inspiration!

Drue Cabral, DT member at There's Magic In The Air/Paper Cupcakes challenges us this week to use some type of sewing on our project. This was my  first time sewing on one of my cards cause I was always afraid it would ruin my sewing machine, but trust me, if you haven't sewed on one of your cards yet, it won't hurt your machine and didn't even dull my needle.....you can barely see the yellow thread though.

This new image "Just Ducky" by Nina is soooooooo cute and if you'd like to have it, all you need to do is play along with us this week or visit the Paper Cupcakes store.  You must use an acquired image from Paper Cupcakes or the freebie from the challenge blog to be eligible to win.

Now hop on over to PCC to see the fantastic projects created by the Design Team.
This week the winner will be able to chose the image they want from the PCC store.
Don't forget to join us for the first TMIA/PCC blog hop coming August 11, 2010

My posts have been way too long lately, so to shorten them, I'm going to start leaving out the recipe.  If you would like to have it, please indicate that and be sure to leave me either your email or blog url in the comment section and I will be more than happy to share.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope you take the time to leave me a comment so I can come over to visit you.  Have a fantastic week and be sure to join the challenge this week at PCC.

Beach Baby's Summer Fun

Our challenge at For Fun this week is to make a water themed card for summer.  I chose digi "Beach Baby" from The Stampin Boutique. Isn't she just the cutest!!!
Be sure to head on over to For Fun to see the fantastic creations by the rest of the Design Team.

Kim over at Crafts by Kim did a tutorial on "Perfect Water". It looked so easy and the instructions were so easy to follow that I just had to try it.  Needless to say, I need more practice.......lol  It's a great technique and one I'm going to use for all of my cards where there is water but I think I'll pay more attention to details next time.  Got a little carried away with the Diamond Glaze so my ocean has LOTS of ripples... The image was colored with copics prior to using any techniques.  I printed out a few copies of the digi stamp then cut out the pail, shovel, and seas shells, colored with copies, and spritzed with Vanilla Shimmerz.  Ultrafine Sand Flower Soft was used for the beach and then the cut out images were glued into the sand with extra FS added so they would look somewhat buried.

Since I've never made a gate card I decided to make one for this challenge.  The DP is from my stash and some I had bought several years ago to make a scrapbook for our watergarden. I've looked everywhere for jute ribbon and finally found it at Really Reasonable Ribbons. Thought it would be perfect for this card. As always, no sentiment was added until I get ready to mail it to someone.

In case ya all haven't noticed, I'm a little bored with what I've been doing so I've been on a mission to learn new techniques and try new things lately.  Oh, how I'm missing my flowers.....so these new ventures probably won't last long. And, just to let you all know, I do not receive free products from the sites I mention in my posts to promote their products. If I like something I see or use, it's just nice to know where it can be purchased is the only reason I link them for you.  I've spent hours trying to find different products on the internet because our craft stores here just don't carry most of these products.  I've been trying to find some of the charms I see on cards but haven't found a site yet for them so if you know of anywhere to get small charms, please let me know.

The fingers are getting numb and I'm probably rambling from lack of sleep again. It's almost 2 am here so that's all from me for tonight.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
Hope you have the time to leave me a comment so I can come visit you soon.

Granddaughter Arriving Tuesday

Happy Sunday Morning!

Just a quick post to let you know that my granddaughter will be arriving Tuesday to spend a week with us. We haven't seen her for 3 years and she just turned 12 in March so I'm sure she's grown a lot.  She called last night and during the conversation she said, "well Grandma, you know I'm vertically challenged"....in other words, she's short like our side of the family....lol  That wasn't something I expected to hear a 12 year old say so I'm sure we are in for a fun and exciting week.

We have plans to go the the KC Chief's football training camp (just a few blocks away now), Worlds of Fun, golfing, site seeing, shopping, etc., etc., and I'm exhausted just thinking about it.......lol

Think I've got all of my posts for the design teams scheduled to post so I've got my fingers crossed they post as scheduled.  I probably won't be around much for the next week but checking in briefly and then catching up with you all as soon as I can.

Hope you all have as much fun next week as we will.
